A patent gives you exclusive rights to exploit your invention commercially for a limited period. During this time, you can prevent others from manufacturing, importing or selling the invention you have patented.

Criteria for patentability: Novelty, Inventive Step, Industrial Application.

Excluded from the protection:
» inventions the publication or exploitation of which would be contrary to morality or law
» surgical or diagnostic methods or methods of treatment applied directly to the human or animal body (this exclusion does not cover products, substances or compositions for use in any of these methods)
» plant or animal varieties or essentially biological processes for the production of plants or animals, with the exception of microbiological processes of the products thereof.

Duration: 20 years from the date of filing the application.

  2. Inventor’s name and address or indication that inventor does not want to be mentioned in the application, in which case a statement by the inventor is needed.

  7. Power of Attorney that should be simply signed by the applicant
